At this point, if you want to just
leave your car a solid color, then skip
to the next page. But if you want to add graphics, you should
first reassemble the body pieces of the car (make sure it is completely
dry first!). Using that same plastic tape, mask off the parts
of your graphics that you do not want painted. Here, I am masking
off the racing stripes.
Since the plastic tape is not the cheapest
tape out there, you can now use your cheaper masking tapes to
cover the rest of the car.
I have added a few drops of white to
my black paint to get a dark grey for the stripe color. Lightly
spray on your color until it is even from front to back (unless
you are doing a paint fade like with the 2 Fast 2 Furious Skyline
graphics).
When that is dry, you can pull off
the masking tape and the plastic tape used for the graphics. Just
make sure to leave the window tape on. If you are sure it is completely
dry, sand the graphics with 1000 or 1500 grit sandpaper to take
off the edges the masking created.
